Installs Claude Code CLI and points it at your own DeepSeek API key. No key is included in this download.

Three pieces, same DeepSeek account: credits (money), API key (password), and the installer. Adding credits does not create a key.

Use the same account/email for the credits and the key. Either order works; the balance belongs to the account, not to the key. Payment: PayPal, bank card (Visa/Mastercard), Alipay, WeChat Pay. International cards are sometimes declined — try PayPal if a card fails.

What you need

A DeepSeek account. Add credits, then create an API key — two separate steps. Key: platform.deepseek.com/api_keys
A few dollars of credit on DeepSeek. V4 Flash is their cheapest model, and a few dollars goes a long way.
Windows 10/11, macOS 13+, or Linux.

Windows

Download and unzip the file.
Double-click INSTALL - Windows (double-click).bat.
Paste your DeepSeek key when asked. The input is hidden.
Open Claude Code (DeepSeek) on your Desktop, or open a new terminal, go to a project folder, and run claude.

If Windows warns about the file, choose More info → Run anyway. The installer is plain text; you can read every line in Notepad.

What it sets up

Six settings in ~/.claude/settings.json: the DeepSeek endpoint, your key, the V4 Flash model, and the 1M-token context window. It backs up any existing settings file first.

Optional extras — take what you need, skip the rest

Recommended DeepSeek extras — effort max, keep subagents on V4 Flash, map the Opus alias to V4 Flash, turn off non-essential traffic. The installer asks; answer y if you want them.
Starter CLAUDE.md — a short “be concise, ask before deleting” instruction file. The installer asks.
Git for Windows — gives Claude Code the Bash tool instead of PowerShell: git-scm.com/downloads/win
Plugins — inside Claude Code, run /plugin and browse the marketplace. Install only what you want.
MCP servers — extra tools such as a browser or a database: inside Claude Code, run /mcp.
Permissions — pre-approve trusted commands, or keep the default “ask me”: /permissions.
Stable updates — less churn: add "autoUpdatesChannel": "stable" at the top level of settings.json.

To undo

Restore the backup next to settings.json (settings.json.bak-deepseek-*), or delete the env block.

This page contains no API key. The installer sends one test message to DeepSeek to confirm your key, then nothing else.
